The rooms are small but very clean and nice, the staff was polite as well. The location is great, lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and parks within walking distance. I did find it odd that staff will enter the rooms daily to "inspect", they gave us clean towels but didn't make the bed.
The photos online of this hotel make it look better than it is. The rooms are really small and furnished with cheap Ikea knockoff furniture. The bathroom is very small and the floor tilts to one side. Simple amenities like an iron and ironing board are not in the rooms. And there is an odd, unidentifiable smell throughout the hotel. That being said, the location is pretty good. But I would not stay here again. P.S. after I originally wrote this review, hotel management said they would reach out to me to address the issues. A month later, they sent me a simple response saying "they can't make the rooms bigger. Sorry." So they said they would follow up, didn't do it in a timely manner, and then were rude. What a terrible hotel. Not worth staying here.
I come here every year. The rooms are small and sparse, but since I'm mostly away at my event, I'm not overly concerned. The AC is great, the basics are revamped and cute though small. The beds are not real comfortable, but linens are nice and requesting extra towels or blankets is never a problem. The people were see every year are knowledgeable and helpful and very friendly. I love seeing and chatting with them every year.
This hotel is protested every morning by paid union protesters at 7am. The staff lies about it upon check in. I understand the hotels position, either they lie about it or they go out of business (which is unfair because they have done nothing wrong by declining to be part of the union). However, Le Meridien as a company needs to employ some sort of counter measures and comps. The hotel itself is great.
Great location in the heart of Little Tokyo. Rooms are clean and have a tasteful, minimalist aesthetic. It's a little older and you can see some wear and tear. The a/c is a little louder than I'd want but works well. There was no exhaust fan in my bathroom so keep the door open when you shower or your things will get damp. Bed is firm, pillows get quite flat and lumpy. There's room service, a gym, coin laundry, and a restaurant and cafe.
The customer service was excellent. The surrounding area was quiet and full of great authentic Japanese noodle restaurants. There's also a family mart just across the street for some cheap snacks and instant noodles. The room was great. I only didn't give it a full 5 stars because I wished the thermostat controlled the temperature better. It's warmer in the room than anywhere else, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Overall, our stay was great and I have no major complaints.
Stayed here for one night.
Room is spacious and very quiet. Bed is comfortable and there is a Japanese style toilet.
There is a tiny fitness room with few machines but one of the treadmills is broken (there's only two treadmills).
Overall I would come back again as this is cheaper than the doubletree nearby.
P.S. You can park next door at Little Tokyo mall for 10 dollars a night.
I stayed here because I had an event at the dodgers stadium over the weekend and this location was perfect to get a ride share to the stadium or even a quick 1.7 mile walk. Everything was super nice in the hotel. Checking in and checking out was fast. All the workers were nice and polite. This is my second time staying here and I would stay here again!
We've been waiting for our room to be ready for almost 4hrs. The receptionist people seem to not care and haven't offered us anything. Some people arrived right now and only waited 10 minutes to get their room. Why? This place was beautiful the moment we walked in, but the customer service is disappointing. If they give us the room, I'll increase my rating; but for now, I would rate this hotel a ZERO. Beautiful decor doesn't cover horrible service
Conveniently located, rooms were nice, service was great. Hotel interior is beautiful. There was a small issue with our room and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy. They gave us a penthouse suite for the remainder of our stay.
Cannot bill Valet charge ($44/day) to room. Pay separately. Convenience store on property, does NOT bill to your room. When making a reservation online, THEY WILL NOT CHARGE THAT CARD. They will only charge the card WHEN YOU CHECK in. Sounds fine right? Unless this is a business trip. When I checked-in (thinking I was only getting billed for incidentals) they billed my card for the ENTIRE stay and incidentals (incidentals-normal). OTHER THAN THAT...great hotel.
We were moved here after a mix-up from a different hotel from over booking. This place was nice, comfy, and overall fine. One woman at the front desk seemed fairly rude though and wasn't too interested in helping my group sort out the check in. A different, much more pleasant person was able to help us thankfully.
