A true dungeon bar with style. Came in went down several flight of stairs and was like WOW! I walk into a scene in the movie BLADE! Plus, they have them symbols over the door... GREAT, GREAT, GREAT drinks! However, since I left my garlic at home we didn't stay for and extended period of time. LOL. It was a great time. Can't remember what kind of music... I think it was jazz.
I like this place. I've been going there for years. However, I have found a problem with it since I switched to a plant-based diet. Not many choices for me. There are salads, of course, but they're skimpy - not really a full fledged meal.
Came on a Friday a little after noon with my sister. It was very busy. We waited at the front desk at Max three minutes. The host greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, we didn't, but we were quickly seated in a back room. The table for two was a decent sized table. A server asked if we wanted water from his pitcher or bottled water as he left the menus. We accepted water from his pitcher and told us he would bring some bread and butter.
He did and the bread was soft and warm. Then another server came and asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for a Guinness and sister just had the water. The waiter asked if we had time to review the menu and my sister had the RISOTTO JARDINIÈRE minus the cheese. She is vegan. I had the LE BURGER medium well.
She enjoyed her dish. The meat was cooked just as requested. At certain points near the end of the burger the meat would fall apart. Delicious! I had no problem enjoying the burger. The Guinness in my opinion paired well with the burger. Sister and I were able to this on a busy day, in less then an hour.
I will be returning. Thank you.
One of those wonderful places where you never get a bad meal. Always packed but they always fit you in...excellent service to top off excellent food!
Great downtown location! Near everything...even theater. Patio el fresco dinning is an option.
The inside set-up rivals anything you might find in Europe. It's beautiful!
They have a huge full service bar and all the amenities of a world-class establishment.
On my top 10 best restaurants list! With pleasure!
Very nice little Japanese market with drinks snacks and candy from Japan and some cute stuffed animals and characters. Nice to walk around in and find different flavored snacks of candy they dont sell at a regular market.
So yummy! much noodle and close to home! My favorite is the beef pho so yummy I also tried the seafood ramen... had Better but I like that it's close. definitely will come back especially now that its cold.
The ramen was good. I think it's a tad over priced. Still pretty new. Small mom and pop shop. The servers were very nice and helpful. Easy to get to. Literally right off the 210 freeway in a strip mall.
One of the greatest ramen spots in the area! The Chashu cut was so soft and it melts in your mouth. Broth with enough flavor to make you wanna drink it all. I liked the impact spice. It had a nice kick to it
Used to frequent this place a lot but after today I was greatly disappointed. Don't think I'd be coming back.
1) Asked for extra meat and instead got a little and they were chewy pieces.
2) The noodles are like they used to be, they almost taste like pre made noodles.
3) My bf wanted to take on the man vs food challenge and told our waiter. Now the requirement for it is to do it in under 30 minutes. My bf finished in 14 min broth and all. When we told the Head Server that he had finished everything and the time, he said he'd return with a shirt and picture to be taken. He never returned and another waiter came to us to drop off the check.
When we inquired about the picture and shirt to the Head Server he said that another Server told him that my bf had already done the challenge. Now this has only been my bf second time here and in his first visit he had done spicy level 5; which lead to him wanting to take the challenge. So when we explained the Head Server just said oh and left never to return with any explanation.
4) The service was pretty slow for a slow day like today. Got only one refill of water during the whole thing.
I finally tried this place out for the first time and was highly disappointed. I have to make a dentist appointment. Immediately I knew something was off about my sandwich. I plucked all the seeds off the crust only to be surprised with whole sunflower seeds baked in the bread along with other seeds which made me feel like i was chewing on little rocks and i had to spit the food out. Like i had to eat around these little rocks. Throw that Damn Seeded Bread in the trash Now or place it on vegan sandwiches only. Literally I feel bamboozled and stupid for eating here. The seeds are pointless and are more of a liability risk than anything. If my tooth dont feel better soon. Ill be sending my dentist bill to the manager to force the bread in the trash for good.
I ordered the Chicken MBP. The place is always crowded, and it seems to be very popular. They took my order promptly while standing in line, they really have a good system in place that keeps things moving smoothly. Sad to say that while all the ingredients we're fresh the chicken itself was dry and it tasted gamy, not in a good way. Very dissapointing. All the organic and fresh ingredients in the world will not make this sandwich a better one. Hope their other meats are better, but it will be a while before I go back.
Awesome place with a diverse sandwich menu and great in house soda formulas for drinks. My wife is vegan and I am not. They had good options for both of us! Their restaurant is very clean too which is nice and lots of outdoor seating to get some air.
I love this place, but I always, always have problems ordering by phone or online..... food is great but ordering is struggle drive there and order in restaurant..
Upd: why did you change your wraps??? They were so good...... I was ready to eat them anytime, but new wraps are not as great as they were..... I hope you will bring back old wraps as an option(((
Really nice little spot in Little Tokyo - delicious Mediterranean quick dishes, I loved the street fries and pitabread with hummus. Sat outside on a mild day and enjoyed the breeze and foot traffic, quite a nice place to spend the afternoon! Coming back to try the sangria....
Pleasant surprise, had plans to go elsewhere but ran into this spot on the way and made the call to try it. Everything was delicious, we ordered some a second time because they were that good. Can't wait to go back the next time in town.
Unusual and healthy menu. Old time bar atmosphere. Food is excellently prepared, staff efficient and friendly. I had a flatbread "pizza" with curried lamb and vegetables. It was superb. Dessert offerings are minimal.
It was good, great pastrami, but like most places these days, its a little pricey for the portion size. I guess its more about a turn-of-the-century eating experience and LA history, But I won't be running back soon, rather head to the Original Pantry Cafe. Much better food, and portion sizes with that same old school LA vibe. The food there is actually worth the price.
Ancient place in the middle of downtown LA, where the menu items have changed little over the years. The star of the menu is the double dip French dip, on a homemade French roll. Be sure and get a side of either potato salad or macaroni salad. And don't forget dessert, their pies are wonderful.
As you sit on the saw dust covered dining room, try the hot mustard. If you had a cold before you came in, if you overuse the mustard on the squeeze bottle, you won't have a cold leaving.
The coffee is cheap and good, so is the beef stew. They also offer a hearty breakfast.
This sandwich was an amazing experience! The meat and the dipped bun is so soft, it just melts in your mouth the pickles are amazing. The cucumber is crunchy and has a sharp, delicious flavour. The chicken soup was a very nice warm-up before the sandwich. Their mustard is very nice. It is spicy and has a nice flavour. One should buy a bottle of it and bring it home. It goes well with other foods as well. The interior is very nice. The wood chips on the floor, the posters, the benches, everything together gives a nice and unique atmosphere to the eating experience. The staff is very nice as well and they work quickly and efficiently.
Love this place. Frozen in time. Sawdust on the ground. I try to eat here whenever I am in LA. Worth going out of your way for. If soggy sandwiches are your thing, this is the one to compare all others too. I don't care if they invented the dip or not, they perfected it. Warning, the mustard is very delicious, but go easy, it will clear all your sinus!
Great food and awesome service. I love the service ladies at the counter! The restrooms are immaculate, simply beautifully redone! French dipped sandwich heaven, the place like no other. Double dipped lamb is my favorite along with split pea soup. Very nice free parking! The prices have gone up like every where in LA.
This is the place of all places, a diverse menu with high quality items for every palate. I've been to two of it's locations in LA and have been super satisfied each visit. Coffees, teas and great desserts, plus s menu sure to satisfy whatever you crave. During my last visit in DTLA I enjoyed great coffee and a blue berry muffin that absolutely blew me away. There attention to detail in ingredients was impressive. The place was vibrant and a diverse spectrum of patrons from all over the world. This is simply a great restaurant that I totally recommend to anyone.
This place is packed always and forever serving great food, various cold n hot beverages as well as salads, sandwiches of many kind for your appetite.
For as crowded it gets your order comes so fast to you in a matter of minutes. The best part is when you get to enjoy your order of goodies to drink n eat.
Love Urth Caffé! Can never get enough! We're all big fans of the quiche and are thrilled whenever we're able to get it! The pizzas are just as tasty!
The Spanish latte is also a huge favorite! Check Urth out; you won't be disappointed!
The staff is extremely helpful. It's always packed with locals and tourists but that doesn't stop them from making good food. Would recommend 100% for anyone in the arts district to come for food, late night drinks, or to hang out. I came here for a birthday cake and it was cheaper than I had expected but was still a good cake.
This place is great. Whether you're here for a quick morning brunch before an LA adventure, or coming back after a hard night out, Urth is a chill hangout spot. Parking can be difficult, but you won't be out more than a block or two away. The location feels relatively safe at night. They have free ice water which is great for backpackers, and space heaters when it's cold. As for the food, it's a little pricey, but the portions are great and I find myself taking leftovers home every time. The vibe is definitely what you'd expect-- hipsters and LA casuals, but it's not intimidating. The only big downside I found to this cafe was the restrooms. You will often see a wait for the limited restrooms.
I've been coming to the Bread Lounge since they opened... it was great back then, but with a couple years, it has truly refined something already great, into something really special. I've had their take on a meatball sandwich upwards of 20 times and this past visit blew me away. The dining space has expanded with more tables and the service is fast and friendly. Don't be affraid to explore the menu, everything I have ordered has been delicious. I'll certainly be returning next time I'm in the area...oh, don't forget to get a loaf of fresh bread and some crazy good snacks to take home!
This place is AWESOME. The menu selection was great, and the staff was welcoming. There were samples from the bakery to try. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get.
Visiting from the East Coadg and wish I could bring this place back with me haha.
The freshest BEST bread in America! Staff are fun and friendly. The sandwiches, well lets say you cant go wrong with any choice. Their pastries are melt in your mouth good and cant go home without a fresh loaf of poppy and sunflower seed bread!!!
Was not sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised! The pastries are delicious and reasonably priced. We split the Aegean quiche which came with a large pile of greens, lightly dressed. Amazing! I'm still dreaming about that quiche. My cappuccino was good, as well. Highly recommend!
I am obsessed with this place! What a great little gem. Seriously some of the best bagels I've had in California! The lentil soup is good also. I've got to come back and get some of their sandwiches. They truly look tasty! I wish the delivered to my office as it's a bit tricky to get to from 7th, but it's worth the tricky route! There's also a parking lot in the back that's a plus if you manage to grab a spot.
Great ambiance. Delicious food. Plates are made to be shared. Pork chop steak was great. Noticed at least 2 other tables ordering the same, as well. Tasty cocktails Had reservations, and were seated upon checking in with host (highly recommend calling ahead, or be prepared to wait up to one hour) Friendly staff.
My yearly birthday treat. Try the roasted bone marrow, the chef's old fashion, and the mussels. Delicious.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. The music is blaring but that's every place. The drinks are great. I usually go for the Chef's Old Fashioned as I mentioned above but they also have a great Whiskey Sour, and Palomas. Make sure and make reservations because you probably won't get a seat otherwise. And do it well in advance. I had to celebrate my April birthday in mid June because we waited too long. Parking blows so expect to valet or get there early enough to nab a spot on the street.
This may sound weird but the great thing about this restaurant is their clean bathroom. A clean bathroom is everything for a dining establishment! It signifies how clean they are cooking in the kitchen. And so it goes on, a clean kitchen serves clean, quality cuisines. Aside from that, they have also accommodating, attentive, and responsive staffs. Good cuisines will always be uplifted by great service, and luckily, I’ve found that kind of restaurant!
Service was great!!! Favorite thing was the pork belly, everything else was pretty good too. Maybe a little over hyped though, but the price is not too extravagant, pretty decent actually. Mussel and clams had a really delicious sauce, like lick of the plate good, wished it came with a little more bread. Pasta tastes typical, sauce tastes about the same as a big Italian chain (heavy on the salt), but meats were better quality. Rib eye was really well cooked, couldn't taste too much of the aging though. Basically good quality meat cooked well with a bunch of butter.
Environment is loud, almost have to scream to be heard. That would be the biggest downside to this place.
Free street parking available, but a little off ways and can be difficult to. $8 valet right out in front.
Outstanding food, amazing service and overall great place! The atmosphere was lively. Dishes were full of creativity and very well prepared. Wished I could order them all and eat 'em all at the same time. Nice selection f cocktails. There will be a next time definitely.
Food was good but I was kind of disappointed in quality of the show. I was expecting an off the chain show especially with RuPaul's name being plastered over the ticket website and show posters. Stage area needed a lot of updates. The front stairs to get off the stage isn't even attached to the stage, I was surprised the Queen's didn't break anything getting up and down from there during their performance.
Sliders and the Black margaritas make happy hour awesome! Actually all the food is great. Service is just as good! Beautiful atmosphere good music and a short drive to the Greek! For $10 leave you car and grab a lyft!
