It was good, great pastrami, but like most places these days, its a little pricey for the portion size. I guess its more about a turn-of-the-century eating experience and LA history, But I won't be running back soon, rather head to the Original Pantry Cafe. Much better food, and portion sizes with that same old school LA vibe. The food there is actually worth the price.
Ancient place in the middle of downtown LA, where the menu items have changed little over the years. The star of the menu is the double dip French dip, on a homemade French roll. Be sure and get a side of either potato salad or macaroni salad. And don't forget dessert, their pies are wonderful.
As you sit on the saw dust covered dining room, try the hot mustard. If you had a cold before you came in, if you overuse the mustard on the squeeze bottle, you won't have a cold leaving.
The coffee is cheap and good, so is the beef stew. They also offer a hearty breakfast.
This sandwich was an amazing experience! The meat and the dipped bun is so soft, it just melts in your mouth the pickles are amazing. The cucumber is crunchy and has a sharp, delicious flavour. The chicken soup was a very nice warm-up before the sandwich. Their mustard is very nice. It is spicy and has a nice flavour. One should buy a bottle of it and bring it home. It goes well with other foods as well. The interior is very nice. The wood chips on the floor, the posters, the benches, everything together gives a nice and unique atmosphere to the eating experience. The staff is very nice as well and they work quickly and efficiently.
Love this place. Frozen in time. Sawdust on the ground. I try to eat here whenever I am in LA. Worth going out of your way for. If soggy sandwiches are your thing, this is the one to compare all others too. I don't care if they invented the dip or not, they perfected it. Warning, the mustard is very delicious, but go easy, it will clear all your sinus!
Great food and awesome service. I love the service ladies at the counter! The restrooms are immaculate, simply beautifully redone! French dipped sandwich heaven, the place like no other. Double dipped lamb is my favorite along with split pea soup. Very nice free parking! The prices have gone up like every where in LA.
One of my favorite locations.Great produce selection. Staff for most part are nice. Ghere is a small bar that serves beer and wine. You can catch local sports teams on the TV in between shopping. Full service deli and food bar to get take out.
This place has things I would get when I cannot do a Costco run. However they don't carry the bag of green onions like they use to. If you want then they have them at the Monrovia store. After the remodel of the place I know it has been years I have been here less. The produce has it improved nor has the meat department. They use to en really helpful out in the isle when you see someone, the Customer service us not quite the same with the returns and cashiers.
Bertha, Terrell & Ms Judy are the best cashiers EVER! It's a joy to make a "one stop" visit to meet all my grocery needs & take advantage of the many KROGER discounted sale items. With the exception of the Deli always preparing too few roasted Turkey breast & not offering the Jennie O dark meat turkey, it's the # 1 Ralph's as well!!!5 STARS🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This place is perfect for bulk items for any culinary recipe. They also have a vast variety of cooking tools. Parking on property, I live very close by and decided to walk. Ordered from their lunch option at their nice little Cafe. I was impressed with the quality of food.
Surfas is a great business! It is really too bad they decided to close their OC location, however. Most people I've spoken too are unwilling to make the drive to the new location. I hope they figure out a way to broaden their horizons again one day!
If you are serious about food, cooking or baking Surfas is a must visit. They used to be located in Culver City at a( what seems to be) larger venue but recently moved to their current location which is in a somewhat seedy neighborhood. But I’m not complaining because they have some unique ingredients like their porcini powder which is a staple for any savory food I make. They also serve great prepared food that are very tasty but unfortunately a bit pricy. Parking is provided. Prices are on the high side.
Online experience was pleasant. I chose to have the item delivered to the store for pickup. Store nevered called or texted, to confirm item was delivered and ready for pickup. I called customer service again. They tracked the item down and confirmed it was delivered to the store. Item at store inside warehouse for 2 weeks. Bottom line the store FAILED to follow through with the Service they provide for the Customers. Instead of driving around town from store to store. And consider the climate of packages stolen from your porch. Pick up from store was the best decision. I returned the item and awaiting refund.
I came to this location to drop off some items I ordered from Amazon for return. Apparently there are a lot of people who return things to Amazon! However, I have never had to wait too long in that line. After you return your item, they will give you a 25% Kohl's coupon which has a ton of restrictions in small print, and it is good for only one week. The parking lot is large enough and is connected with the food places in the next lot over.
It's always a pleasure to visit Kohl's Alhambra, everyone treats me like a VIP and I turn around I see that all the shoppers are treated the same way!
Amy is doing an excellent job as a leader of such wonderful team!
I come here a lot and this last time was pretty great. An employee took the time to help me find a shirt that took about 20 minutes but never got frustrated or anything. She was always polite. Their new line system makes for fast or short lines.
Kohl's Alhambra has lots of clothing, and home stuff which I can looking for my personal use. In the clothing area, it has different kinds of brand which I believe it is reasonable prices based on their quality. Also, my mom sometimes come here looking for pillows or towels because they are good quality and low prices. The fitting room here is good on that day, and overall areas in this store is very clean. The customer service here is excellent because staff are working fast, and also return service are very friendly too. At the end, this store has Amazon return station which people can return their items easily.
I would come more here because it is closer to my home, and I believe it is not a bad place looking for some items for home, or personal use.

If you are a music lover, you cannot miss this place. It's huge and is the paradise of vinyl lovers. After I discovered it, I spent a long time inside.
There was a board with music flyers with band stickers and advertising, I took home some of the flyers and stickers and I put them on some home items, so anytime I saw them I remember my visit to this incredible store!
What an awesome place!! Had a blast wandering around and feeling nostalgic browsing through movies and music I loved when I was a kid. Was a big fan of all the weird knick knacks for sale too (like a sealed Star Wards decorated disposable camera from 1998). Ended up just buying a really cheap headphone splitter
Hollywood Amoeba is the king, simple as that. No place has come close for me (not even the older Amoeba stores) and it's got such a cool, fun feel, even with how staggering it is. Just about anything you could want in regards to movies and music is probably there, unless it's out of print (in which case you still have a pretty good shot). Their accessories are dope as well. And they have their own parking garage! In L.A. that merits a star unto itself. If you haven't been, you must.
Full disclosure: I'm not a big record store person, but I went with three of my friends who were DEEPLY into the experience and had a blast. The selection is amazing, and not just for records; there are also lots of fun novelties to look through, including shirts from multiple musical eras (my friend got a Humpty Dance shirt!) that make this a worthwhile place to check out if you love music. If you're a big vinyl fan, the store also has a wide selection of stuff you'd never even think they'd carry, so it's well worth the visit. The staff is also really friendly and the prices are quite reasonable.
